Welcome to the Southeast Region! Here's a short guide to the what's going on in this part of the world.
Marble City
This city is located in the western foothills of the White Mountains. The Electric-type Gym is located in the strange-looking Tower of the Sun in the middle of the city. Just west of the city is the Marble City Lab, which had been abandoned and boarded up for years before the Syndicate took control of it, evidently considering it very important.
Shale City
Shale City is a city built into the side of a mountain. The Rock-type Gym is located in a rocky area near the top. There are several caves that run underneath the mountain, including one that someone thought it would be a good idea to build a nightclub in - the Cavern Tavern.
Bitterspring City
Nexus Tower, the tallest building in the region, is located here. It has twin spires and looks very intimidating. Formerly a corporate office building, it was seized by the Syndicate and now serves as their regional headquarters. The Psychic-type Gym is located in a building that looks like a temple of some kind.
River City
This city is on the east bank of the Great River, and many like to visit the river boats for gambling, Pokemon battles, and good barbecue. The Fighting-type Gym is located in a huge glass pyramid not far from the river. A strange lake called Cyprus Lake is to the north.
Redstone City
This city is the home of the region's space program, with several labs and hangars related to it scattered around the city. The labs are directly under the Syndicate's control, and anyone working in them is very secretive about what goes on. The Flying-type Gym is located in an old airplane hanger.
Irondale City
This city is a major manufacturing hub that has several factories, the most famous among them being the steel mills. There is a giant statue of a Steelix in the middle of the town. The Steel-type Gym is located in an old factory that was converted into a gym after shutting its doors.
Queen City
This city's Bug-type Gym is famous for having all female trainers, as befits the city's name. There is also an unofficial all-male gym located in the town, and every year they challenge the official gym and usually lose.
Oak City
This city was home to multiple universities. Formerly a very open-minded place, that changed when the Syndicate took over professors and students with "questionable" ideologies began disappearing. The Ground-type Gym is located inside the Oak City Museum, known worldwide for its archaeologists and its quest to clone extinct Pokemon (a project now being carried out under the Syndicate's direction.)
Ash Town
The Syndicate has no visible presence in this city, and even their covert operatives have a very small one. Many here sympathize with anti-Syndicate rebels hiding out in the nearby White Mountains away from settled areas. The Dragon-type Gym here is closed more often than not because the reclusive gym leaders spends so much time training out in the mountains.
Holly Islands
This are several buildings scattered around these mostly uninhabited islands, including a the Dark-type Gym inside a lighthouse on one of the larger islands. This particular island was once home to a city that long ago apparently disappeared without a trace.
Peachtree City
The largest city in the region, full of shopping and skyscrapers. There are peach orchards outside the city, but the city itself is very urbanized. The Ice-type Gym here is extremely popular in the summer, as it's kept close to freezing inside no matter how hot it gets outside.
Pine Town
This city is built in a very swampy area. The city is very run-down and shady, with many abandoned buildings and homes due to not much trade coming through it. Most of the Syndicate's shipping that they want to keep secret goes through here mostly because of how shady things are. The Poison-type gym is located in the city.
Palmetto City
The city is the oldest in the region, and there are numerous historical buildings inside the city. Fittingly, the oldest building was chosen to be the Ghost-type Gym. There is a large stone fortress on an island off-shore, build long ago to assist in the city's defense, but it was of little use against the Syndicate's forces.
Cotton Town
Vast cotton fields stretch out around this city in every direction, and there warehouse full of cotton bales and textile mills in the city itself. The Fire-type Gym is located above, of all things, an abandoned mine that tunneled into an extinct volcano far below the city.
Grassland City
The city is in the middle of prime ranching county, and it's a common sight to see Tauros, Miltank, and Rapidash being exhibited in Pokemon rodeos or other shows. The Normal-type Gym is located here.
Whitesand City
This city is home to the region's main commercial port. Outside of the dockside areas, the city is very relaxed and known for its music, food, and wild parties at night. The Water-type Gym is part of a water-themed amusement park.
Orangegrove City
The city is named for the many citrus groves that surround it or even grow in the city itself. This city's Grass-type gym is in a huge greenhouse.
Lagoon City
This is the tourist capital of the region and possibly the world. Every few feet there are hotels or shops offering mementos of the trip, and there are many unofficial gyms for those who want to try something different. Some of the sites outside the city itself include a huge lake to the north and the giant swamp to the west where the region's Safari Zone is located.
Tollgate Town
This small town is located on the only road leading out of the region. The Syndicate has a heavy presence here and is very selective about who they let cross between regions.
